Vrnjacka Banja - traditional symbol of Serbian spa tourism

Serbia has no access to the sea or sea coast, but Serbia as a country is crowded of mineral water sources that  classified Serbia as the leading tourist destination for recreation, sports preparation and rehabilitation in the field of spa tourism.
Lets Learn about Serbia team, last week visited Vrnjačka Banja (Врњачка Бања) - the most popular tourist spa destination in Serbia.

We bring you some photos.
Enjoy !

Vrnjačka Banja is a small town located in central Serbia near Kraljevo city.  Currently, the population of the town is about 10 000 citizens where most of the population is engaged in some form of tourism. For this reason, Vrnjačka Banja has the most famous school for hotel management in Serbia.

We stayed at the famous Solaris Resort hotel, which is special because of several salt water pools and the best equipped spa center in this part of Serbia.

The main street in the city is known as " Promenada". In this street you will see thousands of tourists and as many small tourist shops offering tourist products and services as one day long trips to nearby monasteries as Studenica, Sopoćani, Žiča....
We were surprised by the price of these  trips. They offer a lot and the prices are pretty cheap. We did not see a more expensive trip of 10 euros.

The Promenada is a place of artist where you can buy hand painted paintings or even order the painting of your own portrait.

Bridge in Vrnjacka Banja devoted to mathematics as a science.

Vrnjačka Banja is also protected by UNESCO and it serves as a reminder to early European       civilization.

The famous sparrow with "šajkača" (traditional Serbian hat for men) is the mascot of the main street in Vrnjacka Banja. Do not forget to take a photo here.

The medicinal properties of this spa were first discovered by the Romans. However, several hundred years later, Serbian Prince Miloš Obrenović began to come and be treated in this spa, and since then this place has become a symbol of Serbian spa tourism.

Natural springs can be found on five mineral water sources  in the park.

In the center of the park there is a monument dedicated to Dušan Radić, a famous doctor and writer from this town. The city library in the town  bears his name.

The water temperature is up to 36 degrees Celsius. However, Vrnjačka Banja has seven mineral springs and they are  Topla Voda,Snežnik, Slatina, Jezero, Beli Izvor, Borjak, Vrnjačko Vrelo...

In the next post, we will pay special attention to "The Bridge of Love" - the  most famous tourist attraction in Vrnjačka Banja.

Stay tuned folks.
